How much does a class cost?
A 50-minute class costs $50,
and 25-minute class is $30.
I also offer packages of 10 classes, for $450 (10- 50 minute classes), and $270 (10- 25 minute classes).
How do I pay you?
The best way to pay is with the Zelle app. You can book classes online and chose to pay now or at time of class. Payments need to be made before or on the day of class.
Do I need to buy anything else?
If you want to buy an English workbook, I can recommend one. However, it is not necessary. I recommend a notebook and pen for each class.
Will I have lots of homework?
You can choose if you want homework or not. I understand that people are busy and do not always have time for homework. However, doing homework after class helps you learn faster and remember what you learned.
How many classes do you recommend?
I recommend taking a 50-minute class once a week for adults. I recommend taking a 25-minute class once a week for children. If you are very motivated and desire to learn faster, I recommend 2 or 3 classes a week.
Are the classes online?
Yes, all the classes are online with Zoom. Please have Zoom installed on your computer. You may use your phone, but the audio is better on a computer. The screen is also larger and easier to read. Find a quiet place to take the class so we can hear each other well. Sit close to the Wi-Fi for a strong internet connection.
I booked a class. What do I do next?
When the class is booked, you will receive an email from englishdaisytutoring@gmail.com with the link for the class. You will receive a new email and a new link for each class. Please keep in mind that the time on the email will be in the Central Time Zone.
What time zone are you in?
I live in Dallas, Texas. This is the Central Time Zone. Please keep that in mind when you book your classes.
What if I do not speak any English?
That is okay! We will start from the very basics.
What is a conversational class like?
In a conversational class, we will talk about anything that interests you. I will gently correct any pronunciation or grammar errors. If I need to, I will explain the English rules so that you understand. I will encourage you to talk a lot! You will also have to listen and ask me questions like a normal conversation. If you have something specific you would like to practice talking about, we can do that too. Of course, I will be helping you the entire time.
Do you work on the weekend?
I am available from Monday to Friday.
Are the classes one-on-one?
Yes! The classes are private, one-on-one classes. I prepare each class specifically for you so that you can improve in the areas necessary.
Can I improve my pronunciation?
Yes! Often, there are sounds that exist in English that do not exist in other languages. Learning how to make these new sounds is an important part of communicating well.
What suggestions do you have for me to improve my English outside of class?
Read! Read! Read! Reading books is the best way to improve grammar, vocabulary, and spelling at the same time. Read aloud to strengthen the tongue muscle in English. Also, join any club or group that interests you and meets regularly.
How long will it take until I improve?
This depends on many factors, like how many classes you take, how much homework you do, how much practice you have outside of class, and what level you are at now. Many students comment that other people notice that their English is improving within just a few months! However, there is always more vocabulary to learn and more growing to do. Learning a new language is a long-term commitment.
